Discovering Priorities
Some months ago Mike was diagnosed as having "valley fever," not a diagnosis made immediately. He also had symptoms of meningitis. Eventually a doctor put him on a medication which caused the headaches to cease. We all rejoiced. Mike could function again.
Over time, however, other symptoms appeared, and he began to find it hard to walk. Eventually he started to use a cane, and started to consider using a walker. His balance was less and less reliable.
Eventually he was hospitalized. Everyone hoped that concentrated infusions of medications would turn his health around, improve it, bring the fungus into a dormant condition. So far it appears his health has become worse rather than better. As I write, he is in critical condition. For hours work has gone on trying to stabilize his blood pressure, with no change that I know of.
Whatever the outcome, we are all leaning on God Who is Good no matter how things appear to me, to us. To quote Psalm 119:68a: "You are good and do good"
Recently our Bible study finished IT'S NOT FAIR! by Dr. Wayne Mack and we are poised to begin studying the book of JAMES. Whatever my response to this situation, however I pour out my heart to the Lord, I cann't camp on the issue of fairness. God IS good, His will is good, in all His attributes and actions, visible and invisible, He is good and faithful and true. My Rock!
